Track Your Course Grade with Ease
This Grade Calculator helps you stay on top of your academic performance by calculating your current weighted average in a course. By entering the grade and weight for each of your assignments, quizzes, and exams, you can see your overall grade and understand how each component contributes to it.
The Weighted Average Formula Explained
Your final grade is a weighted average of all your individual assignment scores. Final Grade = (Grade₁ * Weight₁) + (Grade₂ * Weight₂) + ... / (Total Weight)
- Grade: The score you received on an assignment (e.g., 90%).
- Weight: The percentage that assignment contributes to your final grade (e.g., 20%).
How to Use the Calculator
- Enter Assignments: For each assignment or category (like 'Homework' or 'Midterm Exam'), enter its Weight (%) and the Grade (%) you received.
- Add/Remove: Use the
Add AssignmentandXbuttons to match the number of graded items in your syllabus. - Calculate Grade: The tool will calculate your current weighted grade.
Real-World Example
A course grade is determined by:
- Homework: Worth 20%, your average is 95%.
- Midterm Exam: Worth 30%, you scored 80%.
- Final Exam: Worth 50%.
If you want to know your grade before the final:
- Total Weight so far = 20% + 30% = 50%.
- Weighted Score = (0.20 * 95) + (0.30 * 80) = 19 + 24 = 43.
- Current Grade:
43 / 0.50 = 86%.
